Off To Boracay
Written by on May 28, 2011 – 8:23 pm -…not me! but my parents
they received Summer Party Invitations from their relatives in the province, it has been so long since our father paid a visit to his hometown (Malay, Aklan) so our eldest brother gave my parents an all expense paid trip to Boracay for 9 days! How I really wish I could go with them, but there are too many things that I need to deal with here at home, especially that the opening of classes is about to start in a couple of weeks time. DH is sick too so there’s really no choice for me but to stay.
Just received a call from my sister a few minutes ago informing me that our parents have safely landed in Caticlan. But prior to that, mom was advised to stay for awhile at the airport clinic because her blood pressure went up at around 170/90. She was given some medicines to take and were allowed to check –in after a couple of minutes, good thing that the flight was delayed too so they were still able to fly on the same schedule. I just hope they won’t forget my bilins/ pasalubong.
Sports Activity For Summer
Written by on April 28, 2011 – 2:13 am -April’s about to end and kids haven’t gotten any sports activity yet. We’ve been busy preparing for the little girl’s birthday celebration that’s why, aside from some other family activities like get-together etc. Kids keep themselves busy with cartoon marathon, playing online and offline, reading, coloring and doing some creative crafts. We initially plan that we will enroll them for a summer sports activity and we still have at least a month’s time to do that. The little girl’s school is offering them a Taekwondo class at a discounted fee, but the little girl wanted to try out something else and she has baseball in her mind. lol!
Outdoor activity is fun but I don’t think she can withstand the summer heat as it is indeed terrible and I’m afraid she might get sick from it. But still, I have to check out on Louisville Slugger Omaha baseball bat and other sports materials needed for it just in case she wanted to pursue the said sports activity.
Summer Is In!
Written by on April 22, 2011 – 10:30 pm -Everyone can really feel the summer heat, we’ve been turning on the AC around afternoon and at night since we really can’t bear the heat ( Good luck to our electricity bill). The weather is really getting into me as I would experience headaches and irritability. Kids on the other hand are having a blast since their Dad put up the mini inflatable pool, they have been doing their afternoon dip into the water since the other day.
Advantages of Above Ground Pools
Written by on May 21, 2010 – 10:07 pm -Pool parties are the essence of summer. The sounds of splashing and laughter coupled with a neighborhood barbecue create lifelong memories. If you want to create these types of memories at your home, you will first need to decide which type of pool you want to install. There are many advantages of above ground pools versus in ground pools so you will want to consider all of your options before making a purchase.
People often choose above ground pools because they find these pools are easier to maintain than other options. Damages to in ground pools are often very expensive to fix and can take awhile depending on the availability of a repair person. Above ground pools, on the other hand, can be set up any where in your yard, space permitting, and are very durable. You also don’t have to tear your yard apart to install one.
Another benefit of above ground pools is that parents often find that they are safer than in ground swimming pools. Owners of in ground pools often worry that their young children will fall into the pool and won’t be able to get out. Since above ground pools are high above the ground, the ladder is the only access a child has to the water. With above ground pools, you can take away the ladder when the pool isn’t in use and eliminate a child’s ability to get to the pool water.
One last advantage to above ground pools is that they can be taken down and placed in storage at the end of summer. This is a great advantage for people that live in a colder region because they don’t want the winter snow to damage their pools. Once summer returns, you can quickly reassemble the pool and enjoy more warm weather fun.
A Hotter Summer This Time
Written by on March 2, 2010 – 3:15 pm -Now it’s time to move up and start something that will keep your summer more fun and active! stop hiding on your nooks, enjoy and beat the summer heat. I suppose that pools and beaches is the top hit destination this summer. Nothing can beat soaking oneself to water under the heat of the sun, though you got to be careful as you need to put on that sunblock, wear hats for your protection and always go and shade under those outdoor patio umbrella whenever you’re out of the water to keep off your skin to sun’s harmful rays especially during afternoons.
Notice how those large umbrellas gives you comfort and keeps you protected outdoors? So i think it’s a must whenever you go out for a picnic or anywhere you go, this is a great protection especially if you’re going out as a group. My family even use one whenever we go to the cemetery every November as we stay there for long hours to visit our late FIL, we basically took our lunch there, catch up on each others lives with other relatives who pays a visit too, kids play and roam around but thanks to the umbrella that keeps us all in shade under the heat of an afternoon sunlight.
We were given a market umbrella (like the ones you see over at Starbucks while you have some coffee) by DH’s cousin together with some accessories for a shawarma business. Now we’re thinking of getting another to pair those outdoor tables too. We saw nice ones over at Outdora those that have a wind vent at the top of the umbrella to release the air from a gust of wind and sturdy enough to withstand extra strong winds that happens every now and then. If we could find some that could withstand the rain too.
