Bathroom Fix Again

Written by on June 25, 2010 – 11:05 am -

We can now breath loosely as we are done with the big chunk of expenses allotted for the kids education. We have paid and cleared off all our debts too. Now we can start to work on our house projects again as it has been set aside for quite sometime. Tomorrow we would start on installing the new toilet in our comfort room, need to change for a new designs and newer styles of wall and floor tiles , we need to canvass for hand dryers too this weekend as I suggested to DH that we put one next to the bathroom sink that we would want to incorporate for the bathroom makeover. This may be pocket draining again, but all to the beauty and comfort of our home we won’t think twice as quality is more important than everything else.

A House Makeover

Written by on June 14, 2010 – 5:12 am -

DH was browsing through updates on his FB wall when he called me to look at their relatives’ house makeover. We were so amazed with the new look of their house, in a very short period of time they were able to incorporate major changes already. We could no longer remember how the house used to look then, very nice furniture and designs have been put up. They were even able to put up a spa and would definitely be needing a spa filter for a better maintenance. The house would serve as a vacation house and would be open for relatives who would come over the country for a vacation. Hope we could go and pay a visit there soon to get a first hand experience of the nice amenities there :)

First Aid Supplies

Written by on March 3, 2010 – 7:05 am -

With the recent changes that we did to our room, a bedroom makeover that is! DH told me that we’ll put up first aid box with a complete First Aid Supplies on it. With two kids who are very active and hyper, minor accidents do happen once in a while. The typical bruises, mild wounds are usually what my kids get as they run around and play inside the house. I remember when my daughter fell off on our wooden garden chair and she instantly had a tooth extraction without any anesthesia at that very moment, very traumatic indeed and worst is we don’t have any first aid kit at that time to at least aid the flowing blood from her mouth.

So this time, we made sure that we have first aid kit to ensure that we are prepared for any type of accidents inside the house. Looking on where to get the necessary supplies, AB First Aid store has all the tools and supplies for first aid and even ones for emergency purposes like flashlights that varies depending upon your needs, they even have the ones for travel purposes which are very useful whenever you go far places. Indeed a one stop shop for your first aid needs.

Laze Around

Written by on February 25, 2010 – 10:48 am -

During my childhood years, I used to play a lot and my mom would always scold me of not going home in time. She would always fetch me over at a friends house and would often see us just lazing around over at a rope hammock , I think every child loves it to bits and I dreamed of having it on our very own house. Now that we have enough and spacious garden at home, putting up one is never far from reality anymore. All we need to do is planning and setting up and of we go.

We are just tying to figure out on what particular type of hammock we would put up as there are different nice designs and styles that we saw from outdora.com, DH wants something similar to the ones he saw at a beach,  those that are made of nets and ropes, maybe its because of the comfort that he’s after to as it is well ventilated and much more relaxed. But I wanted some hammock chairs like of this type :

Since we have two little ones in the house, a rope type might not be suitable for them just yet and the one above is the perfect one for us. just by merely looking at it, you could see that it’s made out of fine and quality materials, a soft lush cushions, resistant to mildew, mold and most important of all is resistance, there is also protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays so you wont have any worries even if you’re out under the heat of the sun. These outdoor hammocks are great for your garden, lawn or patio and are not just for accessory purposes but is also a witness for that bonding and special moments you and your family could have at the comfort of your homes, this could be great for relaxation.

House #13

Written by on February 22, 2010 – 9:46 am -

It has been five years now since I moved at DH’s house when we decided to live together. There are times that I got confused whenever I received letters from Mr. Postman containing  a different house number, some are numbered 310 and others are numbered 13. DH told me that their Barangay council have implemented a project to change all the Address Plaques on their area and did created some confusion since the numbering doesn’t jive with the old ones which resulted to having two house number at a time.

And the house number assigned to ours is #13, in which DH’s late Mom doesn’t want to use since she was a Feng shui fanatic, as we all know number 13 is an unlucky number with them and in numerology as they interpret the number 13 into 1+3=4 which means death. So there goes the unlucky number, 4 and 13. Hence, the reason why she despise the use of the new number. We are now still using the old number 310 as I am not confortable using the new one.

It’s a good thing that Mr. Postman knew very well to give us those that are numbered 13. Now that we are on the process of doing some minor renovations for the house we opted to change our old boring house number and buy nice Décor plaques that will go along with new painted front gate. we saw nice design from outdora.com wherein they offer a wide variety of styles and designs that will suit different types and styles of your houses as well.

Their Whitehall address plaque are made up of quality materials and can bear the different weather conditions that won’t affect its elegant design and still looks new despite its prolong use as it is weather resistant paint, made from recycled aluminum and never rusts.  These designs will definitely get praises from passersby and will help your address seekers the ease of finding your house for it will surely stand out among your streets house number.

Bedroom Makeover is Not Yet Over

Written by on January 28, 2010 – 12:32 pm -

Late months last year, we started to do some makeover for the the house. We started with the kitchen, we did some repainting of the walls, put up some new tiles and bought kitchen stuffs. The realigning of water and septic line was prioritized as we’re having issues on it. To follow is changing and installing new kitchen cabinets. As for our bedroom, we decided to put up an access to the terrace from the bedroom, hence the removal of the other part of the window to put up a door. As for the other side of the window, DH decided to put up some glass tiles as you could see at the photo below.

We will be transferring the window to the other side of the bedroom where it will fit and serve its purpose very well, we will just be buying window blinds for it. Having a house makeover is kinda hard as it requires a lot of time, money and energy to arrived at a very nice look. But we’re not complaining though as it has been part of our long overdue plan. I did canvassed for some blinds at the mall but I am not satisfied with the designs and quality of those that are on display. Added to that is the price, its kinda high and it doesn’t fit our budget. We wanted a faux wood blinds for the window to be exact since this would look natural and blend with other accessories around the room and its pretty cheap in cost which is very important and glad I found one at selectblinds.com where you could find a wide variety of choices from different types of blinds, you could even find coupons and buy items for less, they are also an eco friendly company that gives them a plus point.

Kitchenwares

Written by on August 27, 2009 – 3:21 pm -

We have two kitchens in the house as there are two families living here, my DH’s sisters’ family and ours. We are now in the process of fixing things around the kitchen as we will be using the other one and will be on our own now in terms of food expenses and will no longer be sharing with them as per what have been agreed upon. DH has started cleaning and we are now looking for some other kitchenware’s needed. I am so excited as I really love to go through every kitchen stuffs I saw at the kitchenware’s section at the mall. I really love to see new designs as I can get ideas on what to use and apply once we redesign the kitchen and find suitable stuffs needed for it. On our lists of “to buy” are new cutlery, kitchen utensils such as knife, peelers, pans, grater, new glasses and mugs, plates. We also need to check out on some ovens that we will be needing too as the old one needs a new replacement. I hope that we could all fit those stuffs into our budget as I am really aiming to buy those things all at once and hope we could start organizing them at our very own kitchen.
