Canvassing Appliance Parts

Written by on August 21, 2011 – 10:16 am -

I am so looking forward to the long weekend next week. I have so many things that I need to do on my list and I want to finish them all to maximize the four days two days off from work. Day one includes finishing off household chores; laundry, general cleaning, ironing of clothes, all of these actually would mean whole day as it is really time consuming. Day two includes a trip to the mall to canvass on TV parts, we need to look around on some universal remote controls that we can use for the TV set and our digital cable box since the TV remote is showing signs of giving up already. We would also be looking for  Whirlpool appliance parts as requested by my SIL.

DH and I enjoyed going around an appliance store as we get to see different items and new models that we want to buy for our house. But sometimes, it is quite depressing when you have a very limited budget. Ahaha! But on a lighter note, it is a good motivating factor for us to strive and work harder to achieve and be able to buy those things as it is also a form of good investment for us.

Flooring Renovation

Written by on August 14, 2011 – 4:29 pm -

As much as we wanted to start on the renovation of the kids’ room, we did put on hold with the project to give way to the kids educational expenses first. Both of them will be having their exams this month and we are yet to pay their school fees that are due in a couple of weeks from now. We will push through with the renovation once we settled other important financial obligations first. We already have the plans for the room and has to start with the tile removal first because some of the old tiles were broken already and we wanted a new design that will fit with the over all theme for the kids.

Some of the materials to be used are already available like the needed floor grinder, because DH’s friend works in a construction company specializing on the said flooring work area, he will also be dealing with the concrete polishing and other needed things to be done. Kids can’t wait to have their own room already, but I hope that they would really be sleeping there and won’t have to go back in our room when it’s really sleeping time. :D Hope our much anticipated funds will also reach us in time.

Light Fixtures For Home

Written by on June 19, 2011 – 1:05 pm -

One of the things that we always take into consideration whenever we had a house makeover is to look around for new designs and concept ideas, but also had to make sure that home lighting fixtures will always be present as I love to have abundant light in different parts of the house. Yes, I hate darkness. I always go for well lighted rooms as it signifies a bright and clear ambience for the entire household.  There are now environment and pocket friendly fluorescent lighting fixtures available in the market. What I really like with them is that you can choose different styles and designs.

Some really has the unique designs that really catches one’s attention, giving a good impression and of course the credit to the taste of the owner of the house. They not just serve for the lighting purpose but also a a decorative piece when not in use. We are yet to look for discount lighting fixtures a couple of months from now. DH will still have to check out the newly release models that are more energy efficient lighting abroad as per her sister’s advice. Can’t wait for the new lighting pieces that will add more vibrant around the house.

We’re almost done with the painting of the garage and the sala and dining area in preparation for DD’s 7th birthday. I am done also done with the laundry of all the curtains which really gave me a painful arms because those were really heavy ones. We’ll go on general cleaning during the Holy week and see if we can borrow or even buy Miele vacuum cleaners to make it more easier and convenient  when we do the general cleaning. Can’t really wait for the special occasion as DD is already excited too. Hope things turn out according to plans. :D

Bathroom Fix In Progress

Written by on December 5, 2010 – 4:17 am -

We have resumed in doing the bathroom makeover, hoping to get it done before the year ends. The old wall and flooring tiles were already removed, DH were able to buy a new set of Toilet tank repair kit, few accessories, etc. Some other things needed are:

  • choosing new wall and flooring tiles
  • new shower head
  • pvc bathroom door

We’re still looking around for some pedestal sinks to choose from.

And if budget permits, I would like to have a shower enclosure installed, If only we have enough space for a bath tub, I would definitely get one. Ahaha. But no, that would be way out of our budget. A nice, clean, comfortable with elegant design bathroom will be enough for me.
