Written by on December 18, 2009 – 8:39 pm -

Their gifts arrived yesterday morning and kids were giddy happy when they saw the box of goodies and excitedly pulled out their gifts. They were all smiles when they saw the gifts after unwrapping it.

Nicco while unwrapping his gift.

he got a Play Doh R2-D2 Set, he immediately took it off and played.

Gabby while unwrapping her gift.

She got a Vtech-Disney Mirror Laptop
She really wanted to have a toy laptop, what’s nice about this toy is that it is multi-function, a laptop, piano, installed with games, and has a mirror and its musical too.

Special thanks to Ate Irma for granting their wishes..

Paintball Gun for DH

Written by on December 17, 2009 – 10:46 pm -

I still haven’t bought DH his gift. I am having a hard time thinking of what to give him. He has been long asking me to buy him this Paintball gun packages that he have been eyeing for so long. Might as well give in and buy it. He really wanted to try playing the game with his friends, I over heard them planning to try it out and been setting date as to when they will go and play. This is a nice activity for DH, he hasn’t been physically active for the past months. So this activity would be a sort of physical exercise for him, Pretty good for the health right?!

We would still be buying some when they receive their cash Christmas gifts from their god parents. Kids just can’t contain their happiness. They could now really enjoy the occasion. Everybody will be receiving their wrapped gifts. The little girl is reading this entry while I write this post, so she already knew what it is. ahahaha! Can you imagine the smile on her face? LOL.

Little Girls’ Delight

Written by on June 6, 2009 – 4:20 am -

Doll house that is! DD received this from my mom as she promised the little girl to buy this one when she went to my parents place for a one week vacation. She was ecstatic as she has been wanting to have this toy since last Christmas, we did not buy her any toys then since we knew that she’ll be having plenty of it from her godparents.

Gifts for the Bundle of Joy

Written by on June 4, 2009 – 7:58 pm -

A friend of mine will be giving birth by next month, it would be their first child and the couple is pretty excited already. Oh well, I could relate as well as everyone feels the same way during this stage right?! I am now looking into some personalized baby gifts that i found at babynest.com. I am excited too as i saw plenty of nice items that I want to buy for my kids too. Since we don’t know the baby’s gender yet, I opted to choose the one in yellow as our gift. This would bring delight to my friends’ face, for I knew that she wanted this one as it is very unique and creative, not to mention that all are indeed useful materials for the baby’s needs.

Nice board game

Written by on January 15, 2009 – 2:55 am -

Kids got this gift last Christmas, but I think it’s too early for them to play this one. the wooden contents is nice which reminds me of my wooden toys when I was young. This seems new to me as the last board game I used to play with when I was young was Snake and Ladders!

Family Games quoridor classic

Contents:
– one board with 81 squares;
– two storage slots for the fences;
– 20 fences and 4 pawns.

PURPOSE OF THE GAME

To be the first to reach the line opposite to one’s base line (Fig.7).

RULES FOR 2 PLAYERS
When the game starts the fences are placed in their storage area (10 for each player).
Each player places his pawn in the centre of his base line (fig.1).
A draw will determine who starts first.

How To Play The Game Quoridor:
Each player in turn, chooses to move his pawn or to put up one of his fences.
When he has run out of fences, the player must move his pawn.

Pawn moves
The pawns are moved one square at a time, horizontally or vertically, forwards or backwards (fig.2).
The pawns must get around the fences (fig.3).

Positioning of the fences
The fences must be placed between 2 sets of 2 squares (fig.4).
The fences can be used to facilitate the player’s progress or to impede that of the opponent, however, an acess to the goal line must always be left open (fig.5).

Face to face
When two pawns face each other on neighbouring squares which are not separated by a fence, the player whose turn it is can jump the opponent’s pawn (and place himself behind him), thus advancing an extra square (fig.6). If there is a fence behind the said pawn, the player can place his pawn to the left or the right of the other pawn (fig.8 and 9).

END OF GAME
The first player who reaches one of the 9 squares opposite his base line is the winner (fig. 7).

TIME OF GAME
From 10 to 20 minutes.
In a tournament, it possible to allocate a set time to each player.

RULES FOR 4 PLAYERS
When the game starts, the 4 pawns are placed in the centre of each of the sides of the board and each player is given 5 fences.
The rules are identical to those for two players, but it is forbidden to jump more than one pawn (fig.10).
