My son’s video game expertise

Written by on January 6, 2011 – 4:36 am -

Not too long ago I was watching Back to the Future 3 on TV with my son and in it the lead character is in the old West and does really well at this shooting game with a real gun because of all the video games that he plays back in the 80s where he’s from. I turned and looked at my son and told him that he could probably do the exact same thing from playing all these games that he dedicates at least a few hours on each day.

When we were watching the movie, I was on my laptop looking up Hughes Net speed packages and decided on settling for the perfect one that would suit our house hold. I ended up finding one that I think was really suitable.

One of the games that he really loves to play are Tom Clancy games. He actually got interested in them because he started liking to read Tom Clancy books after he randomly had one that my husband had gotten for his birthday and had finished reading.

Christmas Gift Lists

Written by on October 10, 2010 – 4:55 am -

Holiday season is just around the corner, been hearing Christmas songs already in the airwaves. Decors are everywhere too. Now I need to make a an early lists of Christmas gifts. For the kids, god children, family, friends and relatives. Uh oh! I badly need a big budget to accommodate all of their wishes. Might as well start hunting now for some stores that offers discounted prices for toys. I hope to buy the new PS3 Move that DH wants for the kids, I bet he’s the one who really wants it. Ahaha.

The all new kinds of different games that includes sports, action, family and shooters. Hope to include the PS3 Accessories and PS3 Consoles & Bundles as well. I guess I will be needing a separate budget for this one if ever,  or might need somebody to sponsor this one for the kids. lol! Games nowadays are even taking its toll on different levels and prices too. Ahaha

Common Poker Mistakes: Superstitions

Written by on May 25, 2010 – 11:22 am -

If you’re ready to get serious about poker, be prepared to leave behind your superstitions. Why is this necessary? As long as you believe that poker is a game of luck, it will remain a game of luck for you. While the game does come down to random happenstance for every hand, it is also a game that abides by mathematical rules. These rules, as well as the strong psychological aspect of the game, require skills, not luck.

When you’ve made a play and you’ve done well, whether it’s a victory in an online tournament at Caesars Online or a great hand at a casino table, you may chalk it up to your great luck. More often, this is the scenario where your luck will take a back seat. Players often get lucky and assume that they are playing correctly. Hoping for luck or focusing on luck will blind you to your own faults and areas where you should improve.

On the reverse side, players often make poor decisions and then blame their luck for any shortcomings they may have. This locks players into their old habits and prevents them from making progress. While there’s nothing wrong with superstitions in and of themselves (like having a lucky orange), you should not be focused on luck in any way. You can’t control the luck at the table, you never will, and the things that can be changed will require all of your time and attention. Learning how to play well under pressure, how to read people, the mathematics of the game, and what tactics work for you are important aspects of mastering the game and have nothing to do with luck. Ask any professional players if poker is a game of luck or skill, and they will tell you that it’s all about skill.

Player Spotlight: Phil Hellmuth

Written by on May 25, 2010 – 1:49 am -

Phil Hellmuth is one of the most respected poker players in the game today.  There are many reasons for that, but the main one is that he backs up his skill with a record 11 WSOP bracelets.  However, his attitude and temperamental outcries at unlikely hands have also earned him the nickname “the poker brat.”  Despite any jabs at his attitude, he is widely seen as a truly fantastic player.

Until 2008, Hellmuth had the title of youngest World Series of Poker Main Event winner in history, a record that he obtained at age 24 in 1989.  This is just one of the many WSOP victories that he’s achieved. His 11 bracelets are just a part of what’s earned him his massive bankroll.  Over the course of 77 different money wins in WSOP tournaments, Hellmuth has developed a lingering reputation.  His total winnings fall just short of $11 million as of the beginning of 2010.  Various World Poker Tour and Late Night Poker wins have increased his bankroll even further. He’s known as an impressive table player on top of having a reputation for tournament victories.

What about that nickname?  Is it truly earned?  Well, unlike many other players who successfully keep their cool during a bad beat, Hellmuth is known for insulting and berating other players when he feels they made stupid calls, especially when those stupid calls proceed to beat his authentically good hand.  He has been issued warnings from poker floor supervisors on more than one occasion.  Still, the jabs at his attitude have done nothing to mar his world class reputation as a player.  The only move that may have damaged this sterling player’s reputation was an incident in which he accepted a pot that was incorrectly awarded to him, and responded to the other player’s comment on the error with a rush to continue on to the next hand.

Play Time

Written by on April 30, 2010 – 1:10 am -

I am not so really into online games, but when I received some invitations from friends (Facebook that is!) and gave it a try. I got hooked up with pet society first then tending on farm, and latest is on Cafe World, DH is teasing me about having too many businesses around the net. :D Oh only if those coins can be used in real life, I am now a millionaire. Ahaha. A friend even suggested that I play online casinos where I could really earn real amount of money($-$). I might try it one of these days but I hope I wont get hooked with this or DH will need to send me to a rehab for getting addicted into it. LOL! Playing online games are just for fun and only during my free time as there are lots of responsibilities that I need to look into my offline world.
