Bedroom Makeover Part2
Written by on March 30, 2010 – 3:19 pm -I have previously mentioned in this blog a couple of months ago about our bedroom makeover. As I have said, it has been stopped due to lack of budget as other expenses are piling up then. The pending renovations are changing of the bedroom ceilings, wall and closet painting, replacement of broken tiles and construction of my work area. Another things added up to that is a major renovation of the kids room, from ceiling down to the floor needs changes. We need to buy a new mattress too as we will be having a customized bed for them rather than buy at the malls which is too pricey. Kids wanted to have their own and separate study table too as both of them will be going to school this coming June. The wall painting is now on process as of this writing, I just hope that all of these can be done before July which is the arrival month of my SIL and her family who is coming over for a vacation.
Holy Week Reflection
Written by on March 30, 2010 – 2:05 pm -
For some people, they consider holy week as a time for leisure and vacation. We often forgot the true meaning and value on why we are commemorating holy week.
During this so called “modern times ” the things we used to the back then have changed, although some of the traditions are still kept and followed, we could all notice the difference. During my younger years, you can hardly watch any tv shows on TV except for Biblical movies like “the bible”, Seven last words, Beatitudes, Genesis.
Even radio programs have been shut down, especially on Good Friday itself. Elders are always reminding us kids not to play and be loud. But during these days it is no longer observed as there are now the presence of cables, DVD’s, internet, ipod and other multimedia gadgets that can no longer restrain you from doing nothing during the holy week.
Here are the activities that are usually done on Holy week:
- Pabasa (reading)- is a holy week practice that starts on holy Monday, it is where Jesus’ life, passion, death and resurrection are being told inĀ a chanting and poetic way, this has been still religiously followed by the elders and in some parts of the provinces. Nowadays, younger generation takes their part by using melodies of pop songs and even does it in a rap manner.
- Visita Iglesia(Church visit) and Station of the Cross- It involves visiting several Churches at which the faithful would pray the Stations of the Cross.
- Senakulo (Passion Play)- a dramatic presentation of the passions of Christ, although this one can now be hardly seen now.
- Salubong (meeting)- large statues of Jesus and Mary are brought in procession together to meet, imagining the first reunion of Jesus and his mother Mary after Jesus’ Resurrection. This usually takes place at an early dawn and an Easter mass is celebrated after.
Whatever we do during the holy week, the important thing is to take and devote even a little time to God and reflect on God’s sacrifices that he has done for us.
Still Got Work
Written by on March 30, 2010 – 11:08 am -Here at the office until tomorrow. Though the boss informed us yesterday that the start of office hours would be around 9 a.m. which is quite good as I don’t have to wake up early and I finally accepted the fact that we have to work till holy Wednesday and should be thankful instead since we are on a “no work no pay” basis, meaning I could still bring home a complete salary for the whole week.
We are now trying to finish our pending tasks, I need to get all the orders done and process them today since our suppliers’ delivery schedule is also up until tomorrow only. We’re still waiting for the office jet printer delivery which is due for today and I need to order another tm-t88iv thermal receipt printer that will be use for the other business of our boss engaged in food business. Tomorrow, I need to go to the bank to pay bills and deposit checks since banking schedule will resume after holy week.
Congratulations

Bundled Up Deals
Written by on March 30, 2010 – 4:51 am -It’s been almost two months now that we keep on calling our telephone and internet provider about problems with our phone line, there are times that we have no dial tone and intermittent connection on the net. Their service technicians come and go, because they will be able to fix as they come and the problem will again resurfaced after they go. A never ending cycle which is pissing us off. Only if we have the Verizon bundles being offered here in our place, I guess we won’t meet any problem anymore with our phone and internet line as they have the most reliable wireless network connection in the nation. It’s just so tiring being offered up with promises by our local telecommunications company with poor services.
Searching for other company is quite not easy too as I did my research and found out that others are also giving their subscribers the said headache, I guess providers here are not as competitive as what the Verizon deals because our local company here offers only an internet and phone line bundle. Wherein the Verizon offers home phone service, Verizon high speed internet, and television service offered through Verizon FiOS TV. You could save up a lot of money from this bundle and get to experience an A+ kind of services because you get a lot perks out of the package and you won’t be having a hard time as there are lots of options to choose from.
