Tikoy from the boss

The boss gave us an early treat for the Chinese new year this coming Sunday and they never fail to give us this one yearly.

This is known in Chinese as “Nian Gao”

Nian- Meaning “sticky” “year”
Gao- means “higher”

hence, for the progress of the new year:)

Tikoy” is what its fondly known to us Filipinos. There are quite number of FIL-CHINESE community in the country so its inevitable that we get to celebrate with them with the tradition.

Having tikoy is said to be known as the symbolism of Good luck and prosperity for the whole new lunar calendar year. Now, there are different variety and flavored ones that you can find in the market.

The best and famous way to cook is through dipping in an egg yolk and fry it. :)
