I am not really feeling well since I woke up this morning! I feel so irritated, I don’t want to report to work but have no choice so here I am at the office. Been having some negative thoughts too. gloomy days are here again and I’m still nursing a terrible headache. Hello PMS…

Symptoms of PMS

Psychological:

    ~Anxiety
    ~Irritability
    ~Feeling “out of control”
    ~Tearfulness
    ~Depression
    ~Forgetfulness
    ~Exhaustion
    ~Feelings of aggression or anger
    ~Panic attacks
    • Changes in sleep patterns, sex drive and appetite.

    Physical

    ~Headaches/migraine
    ~Feeling/being bloated
    ~Weight gain
    ~Tender breasts
    ~Abdominal pain
    ~Swelling of the hands and feet
    ~Backache and painful joints
    ~Nausea
    ~ Epilepsy, asthma, migraine and cold sores may worsen.

    Managing PMS

    • Consider attending a yoga class or learning some relaxation techniques
    • Exercise – n. Some women find that regular exercise helps reduce their PMS symptoms (PRODIGY 2002), so aim for three to five 30-minute slots of brisk exercise a week (for example, swimming, cycling or fast walking).
